24/7 Emergency Helpline +44 (0) 1444 454 540 always call us before agreeing costs over £500

MEDEX AND REPAT

The hospital wants payment before treating me further. Can ERGO pay the hospital directly?

In a real claim: A customer was told by a US hospital that treatment would stop without a payment of $12,000. She paid on her credit card without calling the helpline. The helpline would have issued a guarantee of payment immediately, saving her from a significant financial outlay and a more complex reimbursement process.

Call our 24/7 Emergency Helpline as soon as you can. If cover is confirmed and the hospital is set up to accept it, we may be able to issue a Guarantee of Payment directly to them so you don’t have to pay upfront.

For any costs over £500, you must contact us before they’re incurred. If you’re too unwell to call, ask a family member or travelling companion to call on your behalf.

If you do end up paying directly, keep every receipt and get in touch with us as soon as you’re able to. Getting us involved early also means we can help manage your treatment. We can make sure the care you’re receiving is appropriate, which makes a real difference to the overall cost of your claim.
