My employer cancelled my leave and I had to come home. Can I claim?

There is cover in this situation, but only for certain occupations. You’d need to work for the armed forces, police, ambulance service, fire service, or medical services. Your pre-agreed leave must also have been cancelled because of an emergency or a posting abroad.

If you work in one of those roles but your leave was cancelled for another reason, this wouldn’t be covered. The same applies if you work in a different occupation.
