CUTTING YOUR TRIP SHORT

How is the claim calculated if I cut my trip short?

We work it out on a pro rata basis, using the days of your trip you didn’t get to use.

Here’s an example. Say your trip ran from 1 to 11 May and cost £1,900. That’s 10 days, so each day is worth £190. If you came home early on 3 May, that leaves 8 days unused. 8 days at £190 comes to £1,520. We’d then take off your excess, if one applies.

The same calculation is used if you were confined to your accommodation or hospital rather than coming home. Your policy wording sets out the limit that applies to your level of cover.
