PERSONAL BELONGINGS

I can’t find the receipt for a stolen item. Can I still claim?

In a real claim: A customer had a £400 jacket stolen but could only provide a bank statement showing a payment to a clothing retailer two years earlier. This was accepted alongside photos of the item.

You may still be able to claim. We may accept other forms of proof of ownership and value, such as bank statements, photos, order confirmations, or serial numbers, provided they’re sufficient to support the claim. A receipt is helpful but not essential. The more evidence you can provide, the easier it is for us to assess your claim.
